The teachers have an important role to play in the child’s epistemic, emotional, intellectual and moral development. The teacher requires relational capabilities that offer the crucial wellspring for development of the children’s social experiences, academic competencies and above all the formation of morality. With the changing role of the teacher from a transmitter to a facilitator and advancement of technology in educational discourse it is required that comprehensive Teacher Development programs should be designed and implemented. College of Education, SAMS attempts to educating and training such professionals who are ready to meet out the challenge of augmenting the role of teachers in shaping the social transformation and impacting the quality of education, and making education equitable in Indian society. We instil values of professional integrity amongst future teachers who can contribute positively towards innovative education of children.
